About Notary Public Canada

Most people need a notary a few times in their life, usually in a hurry: a travel consent letter the week of a trip, a certified copy for an immigration file, a document that has to be apostilled before it goes abroad. Notary Public Canada lists notaries public, commissioners of oaths and mobile notaries in every Canadian city, with the hours they publish, so you can find one open on a Saturday or after work. Our guides explain who can notarize what in each province and where an apostille comes from, checked against the provinces' and Global Affairs Canada's own pages.

Where the listings come from

Listings are compiled from public business listings and notaries' own websites: names, addresses, phone numbers, websites and opening hours. We check each place against what it is, so banks, post offices and tax offices that only mention the word “notary” are left out. We don't show ratings or reviews.

How notaries are ordered

Within a city, Featured listings come first and are labelled. After that, claimed listings, then the most complete ones (hours, website, phone). Nobody can pay to change that order except through a labelled Featured placement.

Notaries

If your office is here, claim it to add your services, fees, languages and hours. Once claimed, data updates never overwrite your changes. If it isn't here, add it free.

Corrections and removals

Every listing has a “Report a problem” link. If a listing shows personal information, use it or see removing a listing. Removal requests are handled first.

What we don't do

  • We don't give legal advice. Our guides are general information; your notary or lawyer can tell you what your document needs.
  • We don't sell rankings, write reviews, or invent ratings.
  • Featured placements are labelled, and their links are marked as sponsored.
