How to get an apostille in British Columbia
BC Authentication Program (Ministry of Attorney General). $20 a document. 2 to 4 weeks, not counting mailing time.
Documents it takes
- British Columbia public documents.
- Certain federal documents notarized in BC by a BC notary public on file with the program.
Documents issued in another province or territory go to Global Affairs Canada, even if notarized in BC.
How to apply
- Mail or courier the documents to the BC Authentication Program (a courier avoids Canada Post delays).
- Some document types must be notarized first by a BC notary already on file; others must not be. Check the program’s instructions for your document.
